Taxi Car Scheme
Taxi Car Scheme
If you experience difficulties getting to or using public transport, are mobility impaired or do not have access to a car or any other means of transport then the Cambourne Taxi Card Scheme may well solve your problems.
Taxi Card vouchers offer travel with participating local taxi companies at a subsidized rate.
You can use the scheme for essential trips in Cambridgeshire, such as to attend medical appointments.
A Taxicard holder will be issued with a book of 100 vouchers valid from 1st April to 31st March the following year. A trip is a one way journey. Taxicard holders joining the scheme after 1st April will be issued with a proportion of the yearly trip vouchers. A renewal letter will be sent annually to each Taxicard holder asking that they confirm they are still eligible for a Taxicard and that they still require one.
The minimum cost of the taxi fare where a Taxicard can be used is £4.70. If the trip costs £4.70, the Taxicard subsidy is £3.70 and the Taxicard holder pays the remaining £1. If the trip costs more than £4.70, the Taxicard holder's contribution increases and the subsidy remains at £3.70.
Further information, including the Taxicard application form with eligibility requirements, is shown at www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/taxicard.
All community transport options are shown at www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/communitytransport.
